Job Summary
Reporting to the Performance Coordinator and the General Manager, the SEO & GEO Specialist will be responsible for helping our clients improve their organic visibility, both in traditional search engines and in AI-powered environments.
This person will contribute to the agency's SEO strategies in the on-page, technical, off-page, eCommerce, image, artificial intelligence, and Google Merchant Center aspects.
The SEO & GEO Specialist will need to understand clients' business objectives, analyze their digital ecosystem, and translate findings into concrete, prioritized, and actionable recommendations.
This person will work with media performance, consulting, web development, content, creative, data, and eCommerce teams to ensure consistency between SEO strategies, websites, content, product feeds, and business objectives.
It should be noted that these tasks and responsibilities are subject to change based on the agency's needs, the evolution of search engines, artificial intelligence, and technological tools.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic SEO & GEO
- Develop SEO strategies aligned with clients' business objectives.
- Analyze markets, competitors, search intents, and organic opportunities.
- Identify high-potential keywords, content, pages, and competitive gaps.
- Contribute to the evolution of GEO practices related to answer engines and AI.
- Structure clear, concrete, and prioritized SEO recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to connect SEO, content, website, eCommerce, and performance.
On-page SEO
- Optimize titles, meta descriptions, H1, H2, URLs, and content.
- Improve page relevance based on search intents.
- Structure recommendations for pages, articles, categories, collections, and guides.
- Optimize internal linking of websites.
- Recommend the use of structured data when relevant.
- Contribute to improving the quality, depth, and clarity of content.
Technical SEO
- Conduct technical SEO audits.
- Identify issues related to crawl, indexing, redirects, 404 errors, canonicals, sitemaps, robots.txt, and duplication.
- Use Screaming Frog to analyze websites and prioritize fixes.
- Collaborate with web teams to document and track optimizations.
- Participate in redesigns, migrations, URL changes, or new section launches.
- Monitor the technical health of client websites.
Off-page SEO
- Analyze link profiles and referring domains.
- Evaluate anchors, mentions, citations, and competitive gaps.
- Identify opportunities for backlinks, content partnerships, and relevant mentions.
- Contribute to clients' organic authority strategy.
- Monitor risks related to problematic links or abnormal variations.
- Track the evolution of site authority.
eCommerce SEO & Google Merchant Center
- Optimize product pages, collections, and categories.
- Improve titles, descriptions, attributes, content, and internal linking.
- Analyze and optimize product feeds in Google Merchant Center.
- Monitor Merchant Center errors, diagnostics, and opportunities.
- Improve product visibility in Google, Google Shopping, and discovery surfaces.
- Collaborate with media and eCommerce teams to improve product data quality.
- Structure SEO best practices for collections, filters, variants, images, and product descriptions.
Image SEO
- Optimize file names, alt text, formats, weights, and dimensions of images.
- Improve image visibility in Google Images and rich results.
- Recommend best practices related to the context of visual use.
- Collaborate with creative and content teams.
- Ensure consistency between SEO, UX, accessibility, and web performance.
- Document internal standards related to image SEO.
Artificial Intelligence & Evolution of SEO
- Monitor the evolution of search engines, answer engines, and AI-generated results.
- Adapt SEO recommendations to new search behaviors.
- Contribute to best practices for visibility in AI environments.
- Use our AI agent connected to our DataForSEO API to support SEO analyses.
- Participate in improving internal processes related to audits, research, and recommendations.
- Identify automation and standardization opportunities.
Analysis, Reports & Tools
- Use Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Business Profile, Google Merchant Center, Google Ads, and Looker Studio.
- Use SEMrush for keywords, positions, competitors, backlinks, and performance tracking.
- Use Screaming Frog for technical audits and data extraction.
- Use our DataForSEO API and our internal AI agent to support SEO analyses.
- Produce clear, simplified, and action-oriented analyses.
- Participate in monitoring impressions, clicks, positions, organic traffic, conversions, and opportunities.
- Document audits, recommendations, priorities, optimizations, and next actions.
Required Skills
- Relevant experience in SEO, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment.
- Good understanding of on-page, technical, and off-page SEO.
- Ability to conduct SEO audits and prioritize recommendations based on their impact.
- Experience with the Google suite: Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Center, Google Business Profile, Google Ads, and Data Studio.
- Experience with Screaming Frog.
- Experience with SEMrush.
- Understanding of crawl, indexing, site structure, redirects, canonicals, sitemaps, robots.txt, duplication, and web performance issues.
- Understanding of search intents, content structure, internal linking, and semantic optimization.
- Understanding of off-page strategies, backlinks, citations, mentions, and authority signals.
- Experience or strong interest in eCommerce SEO, particularly on Shopify.
- Understanding of Google Merchant Center, product feeds, attributes, product titles, descriptions, categories, and diagnostics.
- Understanding of best practices related to image SEO, accessibility, web performance, and visual search.
- Strong interest in the evolution of SEO with artificial intelligence, answer engines, and GEO practices.
- Ability to work with data, interpret results, and translate findings into recommendations.
- Ability to simplify SEO concepts for clients and non-specialized teams.
- Excellent organization, rigor, autonomy, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good collaboration skills with media performance, consulting, content, creative, web development, and data teams.
- Knowledge of web platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Wix, or Squarespace is a plus.
- Experience with SEO migrations, website redesigns, or eCommerce projects is a significant asset.
- Bilingualism in spoken and written French and English.
